Steven Seagal Weighs In on Ukraine Because Why the Heck Not

The ongoing crisis in Ukraine has shown the limits of TV punditry, which means there’s only one man who can give the first and last definitive word on the situation, and that man is Steven Seagal. Yes, Steven Seagal, the 90s action star, occasional tank-manner, and martial artist weighed in on what’s happening in Ukraine right now and what the right course of action should be.

He placed quite the emphasis on diplomatic relations, asking, “Why couldn’t they have, you know, sort of, used proper diplomatic means to change the government, which is what we always hope for.”

Seagal was asked if he believes the media is playing a role in “ramping up tensions between countries.” He agreed and went after “supposedly… respectable news channels” for an apparent bias in how they’ve covered the situation.

“They keep saying, you know, ‘Just like when Russia attacked Georgia.’ Really? How about telling the truth? Didn’t Georgia attack Russia, and didn’t Russia retaliate? Isn’t that the truth? Maybe people should either do their homework, or, you know, just stop saying what they’re told to say.”

He warned this is a “very dangerous game to play” and that “nobody should be criticizing Obama for not taking military action.”

So that’s out there now.
