‘The Trash’s Name Is Kamala Harris’: JD Vance Slams the Vice President at Georgia Rally
Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) called Vice President Kamala Harris “trash” while attempting to saddle her with a comment that President Joe Biden made about MAGA supporters.
While on a campaign call last week, Biden reacted to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who made racist jokes at a rally for former President Donald Trump. In one instance, Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico “a floating island of garbage.”
“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters– his– his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American,” the president said. “It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.” Biden later clarified his remarks, but Republicans continued to pounce and linked his comments to Harris’s campaign.
The vice president distanced herself from Biden’s remark, saying, “I strongly disagree.”
Speaking at a rally in Atlanta on Monday, the Republican vice presidential nominee ripped Harris by insinuating she thinks Trump supporters are garbage.
“Our message to Kamala Harris is very simple,” Vance said. “The citizens of this country, they are not garbage for thinking you’re doing a bad job. The citizens of this country are not racist for thinking you ought to close down that damn southern border. The citizens of this country are not garbage for wanting to be able to afford groceries and a nice place to live. But in two days, we are gonna take out the trash in Washington, D.C. And the trash’s name is Kamala Harris.”
The members of the audience cheered loudly before Vance moved on.
