The View Clashes Over Trump’s Climate Report: ‘There’s So Much Hypocrisy on the Left’

The View clashed on Wednesday over the Trump Administration’s conflicting messaging on its own report on the dire long-term consequences of climate change.

As Joy Behar declared that everyone in the White House would rather have money over a breathable atmosphere, Meghan McCain countered by invoking Al Gore‘s business dealings with Al Jazeera despite his prominent work in environmentalism. This led to an argument with Behar as McCain pointed to public figures who use private jets while simultaneously expressing concern about global warming.

“There’s so much hypocrisy on the left with this,” McCain said. “You want to change hearts and minds, stop lecturing Americans.”

Sunny Hostin eventually got in and noted that changing environmental conditions are a growing problem that goes beyond politics. McCain interjected to criticize Gore some more and argue that the United States is meeting environmental standards that other countries do not.

McCain continued to insist that her gripe is with liberal hypocrisy rather than climate change (which she acknowledged as a real issue), though Hostin and Behar countered by saying the White House’s dishonesty about the scientific phenomenon is the bigger problem.

“We all agree that climate change exists,” Hostin said. “Sarah Sanders sat there and lied to the American people and said it wasn’t based on fact.

“These people are running the country, not Al Gore and not Leonardo DiCaprio,” Behar seconded.
