Tom Bossert: There’s ‘Some Disproportionate Coverage’ of Joe Arpaio Pardon Right Now
White House Homeland Security Advisor Tom Bossert told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week this morning that there’s been “some disproportionate coverage” of President Trump‘s pardon of Joe Arpaio going on right now, given the hurricane hitting Texas.
He said he remains focused on Hurricane Harvey and said the Arpaio pardon was “pretty straightforward.”
Stephanopoulos brought up the criticisms of the pardon by fellow Republicans like John McCain and asked Bossert how Trump could say Arpaio was just “doing his job” when he was “defying a court order.”
Bossert reiterated that Trump has been “clear” and he said this won’t “threaten our constitutional order.”
