Trump Believes He Can Make ‘The Iranians Surrender,’ Says Bill O’Reilly After Speaking to President

President Donald Trump believes he can make “the Iranians surrender” and agree to a deal where they “destroy a lot of their arsenal,” claimed former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Monday after speaking with the president via text message.

“Earlier today, very briefly, I texted with President Trump,” said O’Reilly on NewsNation’s On Balance with Leland Vittert after Trump left the G7 Leaders’ Summit early amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. “He doesn’t want to use American air power at this point because that would cause some problems with China and Putin. He would rather have the Iranians surrender, which he believes they will.”

O’Reilly explained, “Now, that’s what he believes, that the mullahs are through, they will have to sign a deal. The deal will be that weapons inspectors go into all of the places that are working on the nuke, they identify what they have, and then the Iranians themselves under the supervision of the United Nations would destroy a lot of their arsenal. That’s what the deal would entail.”

He concluded, “The mullahs don’t want to do that obviously, but President Trump believes that will happen.”

French President Emmanuel Macron also suggested on Monday that Trump left the G7 summit early to try to broker a “ceasefire” between Israel and Iran.

“There is an offer that has been made. Indeed, of meetings and exchanges. There is an offer that has been made, especially to have a ceasefire and to initiate broader discussions, and I think this is a very good thing,” he said. “So now we need to see what the stakeholders will do.”
