Trump Blasts NBC News For Corrected Report: ‘My Former Home’ Now ‘As Bad as Fake News CNN’

It was inevitable: NBC News botched a report on Thursday, issuing a major correction to a story that initially claimed Trump lawyer Michael Cohen was wiretapped by federal investigators. President Donald Trump seized on that error Friday morning, blasting the network and its reporters’ sources.

NBC News issued a full correction to its report a few hours after publishing the initial bombshell, noting federal investigators were monitoring and keeping a log of Cohen’s calls — not listening in to their contents.

NBC News reporter Tom Winter explained on air that “based on information from two independent sources who have a long term track record of credibility in providing accurate information to this news organization — earlier today based on that information we reported there was a wiretap on Michael Cohen’s phone.”

“Now, three senior U.S. Officials are telling us it was not a wiretap. Instead it was what is referred to a pen register.”

Trump blasted the network on Friday morning, declaring “NBC NEWS is wrong again!”

“They cite ‘sources’ which are constantly wrong,” he continued. “Problem is, like so many others, the sources probably don’t exist, they are fabricated, fiction! NBC, my former home with the Apprentice, is now as bad as Fake News CNN. Sad!”

Trump’s attacks on NBC News for a report the outlet corrected and addressed thoroughly on air come as the president takes criticism himself for apparently lying about his knowledge of the $130,000 his lawyer paid porn star Stormy Daniels to silence her about an alleged affair.
