Trump Calls on FBI To Investigate ‘This Jeffrey Epstein Hoax’ That Was ‘Put Out by Democrats’

President Donald Trump said the FBI should probe what he called “this Jeffrey Epstein hoax,” which he alleged has been perpetrated by Democrats.

Trump’s comments are just the latest bizarre twist in a month that the president and his administration would like to forget.

Last week, the president’s supporters were up in arms over a Department of Justice memo that concluded that deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein did not possess the much-touted client list he was believed to have had. The memo also reiterated the department’s finding that Epstein killed himself in a jail cell in 2019.

MAGA world had long been banking on Trump, a former Epstein associate, to reveal damning information from the Epstein case that would criminally implicate rich and powerful people. Attorney General Pam Bondi said in February that Epstein’s list was “sitting on my desk.” Moreover, FBI Director Kash Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino had long made the Epstein case a pet issue when they were political pundits. Now, however, both men are reportedly disillusioned with Bondi’s findings, and each reportedly mulled quitting the administration.

Trump has responded to the anger among his supporters by ridiculing them.

On Wednesday, he phoned into Real America’s Voice and alleged that the real story is that Democrats pushed what he called the “Jeffrey Epstein hoax.” The president was asked by host John Solomon what he’d like to see the FBI investigate.

Trump responded:

I think they could look at all of it. It’s all the same scam. They could look at this Jeffrey Epstein hoax also because that’s the same stuff. That’s all put out by Democrats. And, you know, some of the naive Republicans fall right into line like they always do. They just don’t have the, they don’t have the sustainability. They don’t, there’s something. They don’t have that sticktuitive like glue.

The Democrats, you know, they have bad policy. They have bad candidates. They have bad everything. But they stick together. The Republicans don’t do that. But they oughta look into the Jeffrey Epstein hoax, too, because that’s another hoax that’s, frankly, put out by the Democrats, pushing the Republicans and put out by the Democrats

“No, they definitely set the Republicans up,” Solomon replied before asking if Trump would appoint “one big prosecutor to look at it all.”

Trump wasn’t interested.

“Well, I think it’s, in the case of Epstein, they’ve already looked at it and they are looking at it, and I think all they have to do is put out anything credible,” the president replied. “But you know, that was run by the Biden administration for four years. I can imagine what they put into files just like they did with the others.”

Earlier in the day, Trump was asked by a reporter if he would appoint a special counsel to the case.

“I have nothing to do with it,” Trump responded before quickly walking away.
