Trump: Muslim Entry Ban ‘Has Nothing to Do With Religion’

Donald Trump said today that his proposal to ban everyone of a certain religion from entering the United States has absolutely nothing to do with religion whatsoever.

Wait, what?

On Live with Kelly and Michael today, Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa confronted Trump about 1) whether he’s serious or just said it to be “outrageous,” and 2) whether this actually violates the Constitution.

Trump again invoked 9/11 and “lots of other things” to say that “those problems are coming from a certain sector” and America has no choice.

He again emphasized that the ban would only be in place for a “limited period of time” until America can “get its act together.”

And then Trump said, “It’s not about religion, it’s about safety. This has nothing to do with religion, it’s about safety.”
