Trump Weighs in on Rumor Meghan Markle is Plotting a Run For President

In a Tuesday interview on Fox News, President Donald Trump weighed in on rumors that Meghan Markle is eyeing a run for president of the United States.

“I am glad you came on to talk about all of the success that you had in your term because it certainly was significant,” host Maria Bartiromo told Trump at the end of their interview on Fox News Primetime. “As we wrap up here, Mr. President, what was your take on Meghan Markle now saying — meeting with Democratic operatives, she may want to run for president?”

U.K. tabloid The Mail on Sunday reported last week that an unnamed U.K. politician was pushing rumors that Markle was meeting with Democratic operatives to discuss a potential bid for president of the United States.

“If that happened, I think I’d have an even stronger feel toward running,” Trump said on Fox News. Earlier in the interview, he punted when asked if he was planning on running for president again in 2024.

“I’m not a fan of hers,” he continued. “I think that what she talks about — the royal family, and the Queen. I happen to think, I know the Queen, as you know. I have met with the Queen and I think the Queen is a tremendous person. I am not a fan of Meghan.”

Bartiromo is on her second week guest-hosting Fox News Primetime. Her interview with Trump spanned several topics, including the Southern Border, coronavirus vaccines, and the Washington Post correction of a story about the former president’s call with a Georgia elections official.
