Trump Wildly Claims Biden Is ‘Guilty of Providing Material Support for Terrorism’

Former President Donald Trump baselessly accused President Joe Biden of “providing material support for terrorism.”

This week, law enforcement officials arrested eight Tajik nationals in New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. The men entered the U.S. through the southern border and were screened by officials who before being allowed into the country. Afterward, investigators discovered potential links between the men and the terrorist group ISIS.

“The individuals arrested are detained in ICE custody pending removal proceedings” a release from ICE and the FBI stated. “As the FBI and DHS have recently described in public and partner bulletins, the US has been in a heightened threat environment.”

Republicans have seized on the incident, saying it shows that Biden’s border policies are potentially deadly.

Speaking in West Palm Beach, Florida on his 78th birthday on Friday night, Trump accused the president of supporting terrorism:

So, in addition to all of his other well-documented offenses, crooked Joe Biden is now also guilty of providing material support for terrorism. Under Biden, there’s been a 3,000% increase in the number of people on the terror watchlist crossing into our country from the southern border – 3,000%. And that comes from the Border Patrol. Our country is going to pay a steep price for many, many years. This is a terrible thing that’s happened.

According to U.S. law, “material support or resources” means “any service or tangible or intangible property.” Under the Antiterrorism Act of 1996, it is illegal “to knowingly provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization that has been designated by the Secretary of State.”
