View Co-Host Claims Trump Letting In ‘White Africans’ Is a ‘Middle Finger To the Black Community’
The View’s Joy Behar claimed President Donald Trump is throwing up a “middle finger to the Black community” with his order giving refugee status to a group South Africans claiming to be facing discrimination.
Trump baselessly claimed in a Wednesday press conference that there is a white genocide happening in South Africa, claiming to the country’s president that white farmers are being killed over their race. Trump’s claims have been disputed, including by South Africa’s president.
“Don’t you think when he lets these white Africans in and — that’s giving the middle finger to the black community? My God!” Behar said on Thursday’s The View after Whoopi Goldberg accused Trump of giving the entire country the “middle finger” for accepting a $400 million jet from Qatar.
“No, I don’t. Let me tell you why,” Goldberg said. “I don’t think so because that finger has never gone down.”
“Well, that’s fair. It’s gone higher,” Behar added.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former official in Trump’s first White House, argued there are refugees who are “far more in need” than the South Africans Trump has focused on.
“Those are the people that are being disrespected,” she said.
Behar added to her point, saying Trump thinks he’s “king as he’s “bringing white people in here against the better judgment about all of the non-white people who need it.”
“People should see the truth now, the fact is that he’s bringing white people in here against the better judgment about all of the non-white people who need it,” she said. “We see that he violates the emoluments clause. He does whatever he wants, he gets this, I think he thinks he’s the king. As somebody said yesterday, you did, the Founding Fathers did exactly that book to to prevent exactly what he’s doing right now.”
