Wallace Repeatedly Calls Out Wasserman Schultz for Dodging Questions on Dem Infighting
Something you might have noticed over the course of the campaign is that a lot of the time, when the heads of the DNC and RNC are confronted about the chaos on their side, they tend to downplay it, point at each other, and go, “But boy, they got it far worse…”
DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz did this again on Fox News Sunday this morning when Chris Wallace confronted her about whether Bernie Sanders‘ ever-more-heated rhetoric about Hillary Clinton is “helpful to electing a Democratic president.”
Wasserman Schultz said she’s been very proud of both candidates, compared to the GOP “circus.” Wallace called her out for pivoting, and she clarified that she has concerns about the rhetoric in the Democratic race.
But she again went back to attacking the GOP––mostly Donald Trump––by saying the Democratic infighting “pales in comparison.” Wallace again told her to “deal with your own party” and said, “I got it, you think the other guys are worse.”
And yet, moments later, when Wallace asked her about Sanders’ critique of Clinton’s record, Wasserman Schultz again contrasted them with “backwards” Republicans.
She insisted that there is far more enthusiasm on their side than on the Republican side, even as Wallace showed numbers suggesting otherwise.
