Fugitive Caught While Giving Interview To Local News Crew Covering His Own Manhunt

A Jackson, Mississippi reporter got the thrill of a lifetime when a man wanted for pulling a gun on his neighbor approached his TV news crew and began giving an impromptu interview.

WLBT-Channel 3 newsman Bert Case, who was outside the fugitive’s house before noon, said the man approached him and said he needed help.

“Never in my 48 year career has this happened to me before!” Case exclaimed. “The guy just walked over that hill right there, threw his hands up in the air…he came down and started talking to me!”

According to WLBT, “once the news crew realized the object of Madison County’s nationwide alert was there, a cameraman called 911.”

“I realized what I had to do – keep him talking until deputies got to the scene,” Case added.
