WaPo’s Rubin: Fox News Has ‘Blurred’ the Line Between News and Opinion

rubinWashington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin said on CNN this morning that Fox News has “blurred” the line between its hard news people and its opinionators to its great detriment.

Rich Noves, a senior editor at the conservative media watchdog NewsBusters, said that since Fox has been the one network where conservatives felt like they got a fair shake, and so the crack-up in the conservative movement is playing out on Fox in real time.

Rubin then made this point:

“What has happened is these distinctions have gotten completely blurred. They put Sean Hannity at a desk that looks like a news desk. They have the bug on it that says Fox News. So they have really sort of eviscerated these distinctions between what is real news, what is hard news, what has to be corroborated based on facts, and what Hannity and O’Reilly do.”

Just last week Rubin faced off with Bill O’Reilly and accused him of parroting Donald Trump‘s talking points.
