Watch Chris Matthews Reference ‘Mickey Mouse’ Five Times In 75 Second To Describe Republicans
During his final thought on Thursday, MSNBC host Chris Matthews denounced Republican state legislators who are attempting to implement plans to break up their state’s Electoral College votes by congressional district — a system that the states of Maine and Nebraska already have on the books. Matthews referenced Mickey Mouse or the Mouseketeers no less than five times in the space of one minute and 15 seconds during to describe Republicans during this monologue.
“Let me finish tonight with this – this Mickey Mouse club that’s back; the Republican Party’s plan to kill the Electoral College and replace it with a vote by congressional district,” Matthews began. “No longer will we be the 50 states. From now on, if the Mouseketeers get their way, we’ll be the 435 congressional districts.”
“It’s the latest Mickey Mouse gimmick to win elections without having to win the most number of votes,” he continued.
“Will they get away with it?” Matthews asked. “Not if you stay tuned and keep an eye on these little buggers. They’ve got their Mickey Mouse ears on – they’re up to their gimmicks again, kids. It’s Mickey Mouse time all again.”
