Tonight brings us the College Football Playoff National Championship Game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs. The game, held at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, not only will decide 2017’s champs, but also has the president attending it.
Prior to receiving a fairly warm reception by the crowd inside the stadium, President Donald Trump was greeted by boos by a group of fans waiting to get inside the stadium.
According to CNN’s Andy Scholes, a gate had been locked down where roughly a thousand fans were waiting to get in. The gate was apparently shut down in anticipation of the president’s motorcade. Well, with the fans waiting in the rain for an hour, many of the folks standing there didn’t take too kindly to seeing the president’s limo arrive.
As you can see in the clip above via Scholes, there were plenty of boos to be heard as the president’s vehicle passed by and entered the stadium.
Scholes’ colleague Jeff Zeleny made the following observation about the scene of people booing the president outside the stadium:
The hazards of a president injecting himself into a college football championship. Even in Trump Country, many people just wanna watch the big game. https://t.co/oa4Ujs0tFS
