‘What Exactly Does the NFL Stand For?’ ESPN Anchor Goes Off on Ray Rice

On ESPN yesterday, anchor Hannah Storm really went off on the Ray Rice fracas and what the NFL’s handling of it says about their priorities and how female fans may need to reevaluate the league.

Storm got emotional as she explained how she had to talk with her daughter about Ray Rice and asked, “What does all of this mean for the future? What does it mean for female fans whose dollars are so coveted by the NFL, who make up an estimated 45 percent of the NFL’s fanbase?”

And furthermore, she asked, “What exactly does zero tolerance mean to the NFL? What does it mean to the coaches? The GMs? The owners? What about the NFL PA? Will the NFL, in all its power, take the lead on the issue of domestic violence?”

Storm concluded with the biggest question of all: “What exactly does the NFL stand for?”
