Ed the Zebra Spins in Dizzying Scene as He’s Airlifted by Authorities After Wild Week on the Run

Ed the Zebra’s life on the lam has come to an end.

The striped wonder was finally apprehended in Christiana, TN, on Sunday after over a week on the run.

“Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is happy to report Tango 82 aviation crews located Zebra Ed and returned him to his owner Sunday,” authorities said in a statement posted to Facebook Sunday.

Accompanying the statement was a video of Ed spinning around as he was carried by helicopter to a waiting trainer.

Other videos posted to social media showed Ed running wild in a Tennessee residential neighborhood.

“Drivers on Interstate 24 watched him scampering across the highways in both the eastbound and westbound lanes Saturday,” the Rutherford sheriff’s office said. “He escaped into a wooded area and disappeared until being spotted Thursday.

“The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the THP and TWRA for their assistance in the successful rescue.”
