Trump Roasts Himself Over Unattractive Beach Body at Wild White House Scrum
President Donald Trump drew laughs with a rare self-roast of what he deems his non-beach-friendly body — then more characteristically attacked former President Joe Biden’s beachgoing attire and falsely claimed he couldn’t lift a chair.
Trump hosted Argentine President Javier Milei at the White House Tuesday in a photo op replete with wild moments like his attacks on the media and others.
But he also took a few seconds to lampoon his own physique when an Argentine reporter asked him if he plans to visit the South American nation. In short order, though, he was attacking Biden and falsely claiming Biden couldn’t “lift” a beach chair:
REPORTER: Mr. President, would you like to visit Argentina soon? There is an invitation for that.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: What does that mean?
REPORTER: Do you like to visit Argentina?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I do. I would love to. I’m just a little busy. I would love to. I’d love to go to Argentina.
(REPORTER CROSSTALK)
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I’d like to be like Biden. I’d like to go to the beach. You know, my legs are not quite as thin as his. My legs are slightly heavier. My arms are slightly larger. My body is a little bit larger than his. I’m not sure it would be appreciated on the beach, but I’m not going to take a chance. You won’t see me in a bathing suit.
You won’t see me in a bathing suit sitting on a beach in Argentina, falling down and not being able to lift a three-ounce chair, meant for old people to lift and he couldn’t lift it. So he had a problem. He spent too much time on a beach. Somebody told him that he looked good in a bathing suit and you’d see this guy on the beach all the time.
I never quite understood it.
Viral video of Biden’s beach visit shows no evidence he had trouble lifting a beach chair, but a New York Post slideshow caption of three still photos claimed he “struggled” to set one up.
But Trump is correct that the ex-prez was frequently taped and photographed in beach attire while at the beach.
Trump was filmed playing beach volleyball in 1996 but he was wearing pants, as he was in a 1988 photo aboard his yacht, and the famous bathrobe photo from the same era.
