Comer Tells Eric Bolling He Would Drag Hunter Biden Out Of Congress In Handcuffs If He Could – But He Can’t

Kentucky Republican Congressman and Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James Comer told Newsmax host Eric Bolling that he would gladly drag Hunter Biden out of the Capitol in handcuff if he could — but gave a bunch of reasons why he can’t.

The Hunter Biden saga exploded back into the news last Wednesday when Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance at a House Oversight Committee hearing on a resolution to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress.

Comer was a guest on Thursday night’s edition of Newsmax TV’s The Balance, during which Bolling relentlessly hounded him about holding a final contempt vote and throwing Hunter in jail. Comer said that would be “a realistic possibility” if he “had the ability” — but gave several reasons he doesn’t think he can do it:

ERIC BOLLING: Chairman. Let me speak for a bunch of people. What? What are you waiting for, my friend? What? Will you call this SOB in contempt? Because the next time he pulls one of those stunts that he did to you guys the last time. And don’t think he won’t because he will. I just don’t know, like I. Why not? What are we waiting for?

REP. JAMES COMER: Here’s the question. Do you want to hear from him or not? Do you want to sit him down for an eight-hour deposition and ask him specific questions, or not? We can vote to hold him in contempt. We can do it right now. We have the votes on the floor to hold him in contempt.

But Merrick Garland is going to come back and say, well, well, Abbe Lowell came back with a date in February. He’s offered you a date in February, and that’s going to be that’s going to be Merrick Garland excuse to not prosecute Hunter Biden.

So they’ve tried these stunts. These stunts were political PR stunts that didn’t work because the American people support our investigation and want to get the truth.

ERIC BOLLING: Okay. Listen–.

REP. JAMES COMER: So we’re bringing Hunter Biden in–

ERIC BOLLING: Chairman. I love you, brother. You and I are friends a long time. He already did enough to earn his contempt of Congress the first time.

I think, call me crazy, but seeing Hunter Biden in handcuffs escorted out of the chamber the next time would go a long way for credibility for you guys, sir. I’m just. I’m just speaking from my heart. That’s all I know how to do.

REP. JAMES COMER: Well If I had the ability to do that, that would be a realistic possibility. But at the end of the day, we can hold him in contempt. But Merrick Garland has to prosecute him–

ERIC BOLLING: Attorney. Again, help me, because I may not understand the process. I was under the impression that, you know, we’re speaking to you and and MTG, I was under the impression that once you get the vote to hold him in contempt, whether or not Merrick Garland arrests him outside. But if he ever steps foot on Capitol, on the Capitol, Capitol police or sergeant at Arms could like, you could have arrested him when he played that game with his with his documentary that– he used you guys for content for his documentary! If he tried it again, cuff him. Get him out. I’m just. I’m playing devil’s advocate here.

REP. JAMES COMER: I asked Jason Chaffetz about that. He’s my one of my predecessors as chairman of the committee. He’s a he’s the very, thorough in his history of the oversight committee. That was a Civil War-era thing that happened once.

You know, you have to remember, Hunter Biden was surrounded by Secret Service. That’s how I kind of knew Hunter Biden was fixing to show up. The Secret Service were swarming our committee room. We never had Secret Service in this committee room.

So you know who has precedence? The Secret Service or a Capitol Police officer?
