‘I Nearly Escaped Death!’ Trump Says He’s Dead In Latest Assassination-Themed Campaign Plea
Ex-President Donald Trump’s fantasy that President Joe Biden tried to assassinate him with the FBI took another bizarre turn when Trump apparently reported his own death by telling supporters “I nearly escaped death” in the Biden-led attack that did not happen.
Right-wing hysteria has reached a fever pitch over a false claim that the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort was actually an assassination attempt.
The basis for the claim is standard language in the raid’s operation order that said agents “may use deadly force only when necessary, that is, when the officer has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury to the officer or to another person.”
Trump is now fundraising on the fantastical scenario, which has captured imaginations across the MAGAsphere — and Trump continues to roll out new and bizarre twists.
In an earlier fundraising email, Trump eliminated the middleman and told his fans that “Joe Biden was locked & loaded ready to take me out & put my family in danger.”
That is false, President Biden did not storm Mar-a-Lago to gun down Trump and his family.
But on Thursday, fans of Trump got some spooky news in the form of an email — from Trump — with the subject line “I nearly escaped death” and a demand for one million supporters to avenge him with campaign cash:
