Former President Donald Trump’s running mate Senator JD Vance (R-OH) endorsed a new book by Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec that describes progressive activists as “unhumans” and claims the January 6 insurrection was a “lawfare trap” and hoax.

The book, titled Unhumans: The Secret History of Communist Revolutions (and How to Crush Them), is written by conservative media personality Posobiec and novelist Joshua Lisec. It’s marketed as a history of progressive and left-wing revolutionary movements.

Activists within these movements, ranging from the 1917 Russian Revolution to Black Lives Matter, are called “people of anti-civilization.” The authors argue these individuals seek to “unleash terror on everyday people and revoke their human rights to life, liberty, and property.” Promoting the book’s framing, Lisec described former French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte as a “great man of history” like Spanish dictator Francisco Franco and former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet who intervened “to vanquish unhuman evil.”

In his endorsement blurb of the book, Vance wrote: “In the past, communists marched in the streets waving red flags. Today, they march through HR, college campuses, and courtrooms to wage lawfare against good, honest people. In Unhumans, Jack Posobiec and Joshua Lisec reveal their plans and show us what to do to fight back.”

According to a review of the book by Mother Jones, the author’s “hard-edged message” seeks to paint the “foes of conservatism” as “not merely misguided souls pushing the wrong policies but people who seek to annihilate civilization.”

The pair write: “With power, unhumans undo civilization itself. They undo order. They undo the basic bonds of society that make communities and nations possible. They destroy the human rights of life, liberty, and property—and undo their own humanity in the process by fully embracing nihilism, cynicism, and envy.”

“They don’t believe what they say. They don’t care about winning debates. They don’t even want equality. They just want an excuse to destroy everything. They want an excuse to destroy you,” the authors continue.

In another section, the book describes the January 6 insurrection as a “hoax” and a “lawfare trap” aimed at Trump supporters, calling those who stormed the Capitol “well-meaning patriots.”

The spotlight on Vance’s endorsement comes amid his forewordiof a book about Project 2025, a purported roadmap for a potential second Trump administration which the former president has distanced himself from. In the foreword by Vance urges conservatives to “circle the wagons and load the muskets.”
