MSNBC’s Joy Reid Is Just Asking Questions About the Attempt on Donald Trump’s Life

MSNBC’s Joy Reid is using her platform to “just ask questions” about the attempt on former President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s life.
Reid was tempted into the conspiratorial inquiry on Wednesday after progressive attorney Sherrilyn Ifill complained on Threads, “So journalists who demanded detailed medical information about examinations of President Biden just… don’t care to hear from any actual medical personnel about the injury sustained by the former President Trump after an assassination attempt? This is insane.”
“I have many questions! 🙋🏾Like where are the medical reports?,” followed up Reid. “What caused Trump’s injury and what was the injury? Sheapnel? Glass? A bullet? Where were the three attendees who were shot seated or standing relative to Trump? Why was Trump allowed to stand and pose for photos, fist pumping for nearly ten seconds while asking about his shoe when there could easily havs been additional shooters? How did the gunman manage to get on the roof of the building WHERE THE LOCAL POLICE WERE LITERALLY INSIDE?”
“More questions: does it make sense that a 17 year old who three years later is a member of a far right gun group donated to any political organization, let alone @actblueorg???” she continued. “Has the organization verified that? And where is this supposed ladder? Did he seriously bring a five foot ladder with him and his AR? Really? And why haven’t authorities released information about all three civilian victims, including a schematic of where they were standing or sitting?”

Reid is not the first employee at the network to flirt with conspiracy theories about the assassination attempt.
On Tuesday, Michael Steele also demanded answers to a laundry list of questions of his own live on air.
“It’s been three days — going on four — since this horrific event occurred. A person lost their life, two have been severely injured. And yet we’ve not received a medical report from the hospital, nor have we received a medical report from the campaign or from the Trump Organization about the extent of the damage to his ear,” he complained. “If he was shot by a high-caliber bullet, there should probably be very little ear there. And so we’d like to know that. Is there cosmetic surgery involved? What is the prognosis for recovery? Were there stitches? What is the extent and nature of the damage to his ear?”
He continued:
Was it caused by a bullet as opposed to — as some reports from those on the scene, other reporters — saying that it was actually shards of glass from the teleprompter itself, not the bullet. So there are a lot of questions around that ear. And yet there’s been no response to that. Instead just showing the the image of the man coming into into the hall with the wounded ear.
The fact-checking website Snopes has debunked claims that it was glass, rather than a bullet that struck Trump’s ear, citing photographic evidence.
