Shocking SNL Spoof of ‘The White Lotus’ Shows Trump Getting Very Cozy With Putin and a Stunning Encounter Between Don Jr. and Tiger Woods
Saturday Night Live delivered a shocking spoof of the HBO series The White Lotus by imagining President Donald Trump, his family, and his cabinet members as the guests at the seedy resort.
In a sketch titled “The White Potus,” SNL cast Trump and his family as the Ratliffs from the hit drama’s third season. The sketch put Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) and others in his orbit in sordid situations similar to those the characters encountered on the HBO series. Trump’s arc mirrors that of the Ratliff family patriarch, Tim Ratliff, in that distressing financial circumstances unknown to the rest of his family cause him to spiral. (Trump, in the sketch, is shown as having sparked a global recession.)
Chloe Fineman, playing a hybrid of Victoria Ratliff and Melania Trump, mused about what it would be like if the U.S. were driven into economic ruin.
“We are so lucky that America will always be a rich and powerful nation,” Fineman’s Melania said, in a heavy southern accent.
“I mean, can you imagine how awful it would be if America lost all its money and no one in the world respected us anymore?”
Cut to President Trump anxiously looking at a headline which read, “Trump triggers worldwide recession.”
Several Trump cabinet members were skewered in the SNL send-up. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (played by SNL guest host Jon Hamm) was shown wildly rambling a la Rick Hatchett — but in RFK Jr.’s case, the HHS secretary was shown contemplating various crazy medical actions.
“It’s like I have all these crazy ideas, you know?” Hamm’s RFK Jr. said. ” Like, I have this syringe full of active measles virus, and I just want to stab somebody with it, you know? And, I mean, I have these insane ideas, like, what if we took all the fluoride out of the drinking water?”
But the sketch got a bit shocking when it depicted Trump waking up from nightmare only to be comforted by Vladimir Putin (played by Beck Bennett).
“What’s the matter, baby?” Bennett’s Putin asked Trump, while tenderly massaging his shoulders.
“Vladimir, I think we’re all having weird dreams,” Trump replied.
That line prompted Donald Trump Jr. (played by Mikey Day) to wonder, “What did I do last night?”
The cutaway shot showed Don Jr. getting intimate with Tiger Woods (played by Kenan Thompson) in a manner similar to the shocking incest scene between the Ratliff brothers on The White Lotus. (Woods recently went public about his relationship with Vanessa Trump — who is Don Jr.’s-ex.)
“Suprise!” The Woods character said — as the Don Jr. character reached over to perform an intimate act on him. “It’s me, Tiger Woods!”
Don Jr. was shown reacting in horror, as he recalled the encounter.
