State Department Official Issues Denial After Being Called Out For Openly Seeking Hosting Job on The View

State Department Deputy Spokesperson Jalina Porter issued a denial after being called out for openly seeking a co-host role on The View.
Porter posted a picture on Instagram of her and View co-host Sunny Hostin at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night.
“On the Black Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus, it’s time to make some manifestations,” she captioned. “I see me being a co-host on @theviewabc in my near future. Send me good vibes and lots of love, y’all.”
The post has since apparently been deleted.
In a statement to The Washington Free Beacon, which first reported on Thursday on Porter’s post, Porter denied she’s seeking a gig at the popular ABC daytime show.
“This was intended as a light-hearted, personal social media post and nothing more,” she said. “I am not seeking employment with The View.”
Porter didn’t violate State Department ethics with the post, a department spokesperson told the Free Beacon.
Porter has come under fire for other past social media posts.
On Facebook in 2016, Porter posted, “The largest threat to U.S. national security are U.S. cops. Not ISIS, not Russian hackers, not anyone or anything else.”
“If ya’ll don’t wake up and rise up to this truth, the genocide against Blacks in America will continue until we are near extinct,” Porter said. “That’s not the world I seek to live in or create for myself and those around me.”
In a statement to Fox News last year, Porter said, “Comments I made five years ago on my personal Facebook account as a private citizen were in response to the uncomfortable – and deeply painful – truth of race-based violence in America that has continued ever since.”
“The pain I expressed was real. Nevertheless, I should’ve chosen words that were less passionate and spur-of-the moment, as well as more constructive. I, of course, know well that not all law enforcement officers pose a threat to our community,” she added. “Today, I am proud to stand as the State Department’s first Black woman Deputy Spokesperson, a position that affords me an opportunity to be part of the ongoing conversation regarding nationwide equity and inclusion, as we work to enhance the power of America’s example overseas.”
