Trump’s New Official Website to Preserve His ‘Magnificent Legacy’ Literally Cuts Off His Head in Landing Page Photos

Former President Donald Trump launched a new official website Monday, which says it is dedicated to preserving his “magnificent legacy” — apparently by cutting him out of several photos on the site’s landing page.

“The Office of Donald J. Trump” website trumpets its mission as “preserving the magnificent legacy of the Trump Administration, while at the same time advancing the America First agenda.”

That mission statement is accompanied by an “About” page that provides a lengthy alternate history of the Trump presidency that omits key details like the Capitol insurrection, and casts the coronavirus pandemic response that oversaw the deaths of over half a million Americans as a huge success.

But it also sits directly below a series of landing-page photos that portend poorly for said preservation, at least symbolically. The site comically crops Trump partially or completely out of several of the photos.

For example, only Trump’s chin is visible in the photo of his meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in the DMZ.

A photo of Trump in the Brady Briefing Room, site of his now-infamous disinfectant rant, is similarly treated.

It’s unlikely that Trump intended any symbolism, but time will tell if the landing page is updated, or continues to provide only part of the picture.
