‘YEAH BOY!’ Trump Fans With ‘TRUMP WON’ (He Didn’t) ‘Biden NOT President’ (He Is) Flags Go Nuts When Motorcade Pulls Into Court

Fans of former President Donald Trump lined the street near the federal courthouse in Ft. Pierce, FL holding banners celebrating his fictional victory over President Joe Biden as they waited for Trump to arrive for a hearing.
On Friday, Trump showed up for a hearing the Espionage Act case being tried by Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon.
After Judge Cannon denied efforts to delay the Espionage Act trial last week, Trump’s legal team filed a stack of motions demanding the dismissal of the case on grounds that most experts find flimsy, at best.
But Trump’s team and Smith have also been jousting about Trump’s demands for evidence in the case, which is the subject of another recent and scathing filing by Smith.
Friday’s hearing was intended for Cannon to hear arguments on those and other issues, but for Trump supporters it was a chance for an election-denying pep rally complete with blaring Village People music.
Cameras were on hand in several spots to catch supporters waving flags that proclaimed “TRUMP WON” (he did not — President Joe Biden did) and “BIDEN IS NOT PRESIDENT” (he is) and waiting for Trump to arrive.
Another camera showed Trump’s motorcade arriving, as well as an absurdly large contingent of motorcycle cops in gleaming white uniforms riding by in formation.
The hearing did not seem to be going great for prosecutors, as Judge Cannon seemed skeptical about their timeline, according to Politico:
“A lot of work needs to be done in the pretrial phase of this case,” Cannon said in court on Friday, with Trump looking on from the defense table.
The judge said prosecutors’ proposed timeline would compress a lot of pretrial arguments and deliberation into very short windows. “To try to do 13 motions in a day or even two days seems unrealistic,” said Cannon, who was appointed to the federal bench by Trump in the final months of his presidency.
At one point, the judge seemed to take umbrage at what she viewed as a suggestion by Jay Bratt, one of the top prosecutors working for Smith, that she wasn’t moving quickly enough.
“I can assure you that, in the building, there’s a good deal of judicial work going on,” Cannon said.
The hearing follows the news that the Supreme Court won’t hear Trump’s appeal in the Jan. 6 case until April 22.
