8 People Stabbed in Minnesota Mall, Attacker Shot Dead by Police
Eight people were stabbed in a mall in Minnesota last night before police officers took down the attacker.
According to CNN, the man was wearing a uniform from a private security company when he carried out the attack at the Crossroads mall but, according to St. Cloud police, none of the injuries are life-threatening.
Police chief William Anderson said that multiple witnesses recounted how the attacker asked at least one of the victims before attacking and made a reference to Allah.
During the police briefing last night, Anderson explained that authorities were able to take the attacker down:
The suspect was killed inside the mall, said Sgt. Jason Burke. He confirmed several people were taken to a hospital for treatment. At the briefing later, Anderson said eight people had been taken to the hospital, and all but one had been released.
The mall is closed today as the police investigation continues.
