Abramson Backs Out of One Commencement, Still Slated to Speak at Another
Ex-New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson was scheduled to attend the commencement ceremony at Brandeis University, and to deliver the commencement address at Wake Forest University. Well, in the wake of her ouster from the Times this week, Abramson has withdrawn from the Brandeis commencement, but will still be attending the Wake Forest ceremony to speak.
According to a Brandeis spokesperson, Abramson backed out of Sunday’s commencement because, as she put it, it was “not my year to be there.”
Meanwhile, Abramson is still planning to speak at Wake Forest University on Monday, according to Hardball producer Lisa Crivelli.
