Accident Not Terror: One Dead, 22 Injured in Times Square Car Crash
The New York Police Department is addressing an emergency situation in Times Square today, after a car mowed down several pedestrians before crashing into a metal guard pole.
At around midday on Thursday, police received calls that people were hurt when a car drove onto a sidewalk after moving against the flow of traffic. The vehicle struck multiple people before partially flipping over on the corner of Broadway and W 45th Street.
At least one person has been confirmed dead. The number of injured has not been confirmed, but reports indicate that the current number is ranging from 12 to 20 people.

Emergency services were filmed as they took someone into custody, and reports suggest that it might have been the driver:

CBS reports that they have spoken to the Police Department, who said that the incident was not a terrorism attack. Indications are that the driver has a known history of DUIs, and is currently being tested for intoxication:

The NYPD will be holding a news conference soon, where they will clarify what they know about the incident.

The mayor and the police department told reporters that the incident does not point to terrorism.
