And Now Oprah’s Interested in Buying the Clippers
Yesterday Oprah Winfrey said that she’s not planning to try and buy the L.A. Clippers, but new reports suggest she’s considering an ownership bid alongside Larry Ellison and David Geffen, who has already been rumored as a candidate for ownership.
Winfrey said yesterday Magic Johnson would be a good choice to own the team, but now ESPN reports that Oprah would join up to buy the team, but would only be an investor and would not run the team. Geffen told ESPN, “Oprah is not interested in running the team… She thinks it would be a great thing for an important black American to own [another] franchise.”
The report was also confirmed by CBS News.

They can only buy the team, of course, once a majority of the owners force Donald Sterling to sell the team.
