Competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut remained victorious on Friday, scarfing down — ugh — 61 hot dogs in a row to win his eighth straight Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Last year’s record, as set by Chestnut, was 69 dogs. He did not beat it, sadly.
With this year’s 61 links, Chestnut consumed roughly 18,000 calories and 1,226 grams of fat in one sitting. Good work.
