Associated Press Blunders, Corrects Another Breaking News Report
The hits keep on coming for the Associated Press.
Of late, the AP has had to issue an unfortunate series of corrections and clarifications to at least three tweets the wire service’s Twitter account sent out. Then there was the startling headline on a report that seemed to suggest an American citizen was being injected with Ebola.
The latest: An erroneous tweet sent out by the AP Thursday related to Sen. John Walsh, the Democrat who just dropped out of his terminated his reelection campaign in light of a plagiarism accusations.
The initial tweet from the AP named one “Joe Walsh”:
BREAKING: AP source: Montana Sen. Joe Walsh leaving race amid allegations that he plagiarized paper.

Ten minutes later, a correction was issued:
CORRECTS: AP source: Montana Sen. John Walsh leaving race amid allegations of plagiarism: (corrects first name): http://t.co/vBMRnrfTri
