Aurora Movie Theater Shooter Assaulted by Fellow Inmate in Prison
The Aurora theater shooter, currently serving a life sentence with no possibility of parole in the highest state security prison, was allegedly attacked by a fellow inmate this month, and the assailant is facing charges.
The assault occurred weeks ago, but The Denver Post received a letter yesterday from someone claiming to be Mark Daniels, the inmate who attacked James Holmes.
Colorado officials did end up confirming that during the time of day where Holmes was in the Management Control Unit, Daniels assaulted both Holmes and a correctional officer and took a few swings at them. Both was reportedly uninjured.
Nevertheless, the Colorado Department of Corrections says that Daniels will be charged with assault.
Daniels is in prison for, among other things, auto theft and assault with a deadly weapon.
