Bachmann Wonders If God Wants Her to Run For Franken’s Seat: ‘Am I Being Called to Do This Now?’
During the 2012 presidential race, former GOP Congresswoman Michele Bachmann claimed that she got into the Republican primary because God told her to run. It now appears she believes the Supreme Being wants her to toss her hat into another political race.
Appearing on televangelist Jim Bakker’s program last week, Bachmann said that she is considering taking a run at the Senate seat that Democrat Al Franken vacated on Tuesday. The ex-Minnesota lawmaker claimed that she has had folks contact her urging her to get into the race as there will be an election for the seat in November.
Complaining that the “swamp is so toxic” in Washington and that will likely result in her being viciously attacked if she were to make it into the Senate, she stated that she would place her “trust in a big God” when it comes to making the decision.
“So the question is — am I being called to do this now?” Bachmann wondered aloud. “I don’t know. I don’t know.”
Bakker would jump in to double down on Bachmann’s insistence that Washington is way too nasty towards conservatives and Christians, claiming that there are politicians on the Hill that “want to kill the president of the United States” and would put a contract out on Trump if they could.
