Behold Mediaite’s Uncanny Political Media Doppelgängers

Harris Faulkner and Angela BassettScreen Shot 2016-02-04 at 10.37.19 PM

We all know that Harris Faulkner isn’t a big fan of unauthorized doppelgängers (and quite rightly!), but no one could object to being compared to the fabulous Angela Bassett! Beyond looking strikingly similar, both also have an interest in keeping their work truthful: Faulkner is a respected and awarded news anchor while Bassett primarily selects acting roles that portray and honor real people. We here at Mediaite are forever impressed that neither woman ever seems to age!

Glenn Beck and Jimmy Neutron‘s Carl WheezerScreen Shot 2016-02-04 at 10.39.30 PM

Maybe it’s the glasses. Maybe it’s the cheeks. Maybe it’s the facial expressions. It’s hard to pin down exactly how or why Glenn Beck looks just like Carl Wheezer from Jimmy Neutron, but he does. Now that you’ve seen it, you won’t ever unsee it. All that’s left now is to wait for Beck to start talking about llamas on one of his broadcasts and honestly, would that surprise any of us, anyway?

John Berman and Ferris BuellerScreen Shot 2016-02-04 at 10.47.44 PM

Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is known for being an irresponsible truant with a heart of gold. His look-alike John Berman doesn’t have the option of skipping out on his commitments, since he anchors a show every morning at 4:00 am. Bueller and Berman are both super-savvy, but while Bueller used his smarts for causing trouble (and getting himself out of it), Berman used his brains to win $50,000 for charity on a 2015 episode of Celebrity Jeopardy!

David Corn and John Malkovich

Screen Shot 2016-02-08 at 8.41.21 PMYes, judging by that two-toned look in these photographs, we admittedly dug deep into the history books to make this doppelgänger work, but why wouldn’t we? Mother Jones‘ David Corn, who earned a distinction on the Mediaite Most Influential of 2015 is a dead ringer for actor John Malkovich. However, only one of these men is politically active. Reportedly, Malkovich has admitted to not voting since Senator George McGovern lost in 1972, while Corn is an active voice in the liberal left. Updated photos of the gentlemen side-by-side may not give off the same recognition, so we’re happy to admit that a trip down memory lane may be necessary to find that perfect doppel-angle.
