Biden Admits He’s Not ‘Comfortable’ with ‘Goofy Uncle Joe’ Persona

Joe Biden doesn’t seem to like the reputation he’s garnered as a sort of fun VP uncle. He told CNBC’s John Harwood in an interview out today he’s not “comfortable” with that “goofy Uncle Joe” persona.

He touted the things he’s done as veep, how he “ran the Recovery Act,” and even got in a little dig at the current presidential contenders by saying, “If you notice, I beat every Republican in every poll when they thought I was running. If you notice that my favorability was higher than anybody else’s running for office in either party.”

Harwood pressed Biden on the frustrations many Americans feel about economic stagnation––a feeling fueled by Bernie Sanders. Biden responded, “We had about eight atom bombs dropped on our desk.”

He said they’ve gotten plenty done while acknowledging there’s still more to do.
