Bill Cosby Thanks Eddie Murphy for Not Parodying Him on SNL

SNL alum Norm Macdonald tweeted lots of behind-the-scenes trivia last night about the show’s big 40th anniversary show, even revealing that Eddie Murphy was supposed to parody Bill Cosby on Celebrity Jeopardy, but Murphy decided against it.

The way Macdonald explained it, Murphy decided the laughs aren’t working “kicking a man while he’s down.”

Well, Cosby noticed the news being picked up overnight, and through a spokesperson, he released a statement to NBC News saying, “I am very appreciative of Eddie and I applaud his action.”

Cosby has, of course, been accused of sexual assault and other improper behavior by dozens of women over the past few months.
