Boehner Pulls Out of Fallon Appearance Following McCarthy News

Outgoing House Speaker John Boehner was scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday evening, but with news that Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has dropped his bid to succeed Boehner in that role, NBC has announced that he has canceled his appearance.

Boehner released the following statement on Twitter, in which he vows to serve as speaker until the House can agree on who to elect:
