BREAKING: CIA Director Gina Haspel Will Reportedly Brief Lawmakers Tomorrow on Jamal Khashoggi’s Murder

CIA Director Gina Haspel will apparently talk to a group of Congressional lawmakers about Saudi Arabia on Tuesday after she was mysteriously absent from the Senate’s recent briefing on the subject.
Wall Street Journal and other outlets are reporting that Haspel will be on Capitol Hill to talk about what she knows about the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. This news comes after bipartisan discontent over the fact that Haspel didn’t accompany Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary James Mattis last week to address the same topic.
Even though the CIA reportedly has “high confidence” in their findings that the Saudi Royal Family was directly connected to Khashoggi’s murder by embassy officials in Istanbul, Trump and his cabinet are rejecting those assessments while saying theres no smoking gun to prove the allegations. Some have suggested that the White House tried to gag Haspel from speaking about her Khashoggi findings, though the CIA insists no one ordered her to remain silent.
This is a breaking story and we shall update accordingly.
