BREAKING: Empire Actor Jussie Smollett is Under Arrest

Multiple sources are reporting that Empire actor Jussie Smollett is now under arrest and in the custody of detectives in Chicago.

Smollett is facing a felony charge for allegedly filing a false report two weeks ago that claimed that he was a victim of a politically charged hate crime. That news was initially reported by TMZ but Smollett’s story appears to have completely fallen apart.

Smollett initially claimed that two men attacked him last month with shouts of MAGA, put a rope around his neck and poured bleach on him. Since then, two brothers who claimed that the attack was staged and that they had been paid to attack him,

The statement from Chicago authorities reads: “Actor Jussie Smollett is under arrest and in custody this morning according to Chicago police. There will be a briefing later this morning at 10:00 A.M. Eastern time. A bail hearing is set for this afternoon.”
