Carson: I’m in ‘Great Danger’ From ‘Secular Progressive’ Left

Republican Presidential candidate Ben Carson told radio host Rita Cosby Thursday that he is in “great danger” because he poses an “existential threat” to the secular progressive movement.

Asked about his campaign’s request for secret service detail, Carson told Cosby, “I’d prefer not to talk about security issues, but I have recognized — and people have been telling me for many, many months, that I’m in great danger, because you know, I challenge the secular progressive movement to the very core.”

“But I also believe in the good Lord, and you know, we take reasonable precautions,” Carson added.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Carson and his republican opponent Donald Trump both requested Secret Service protection from the agency; those requests have yet to be fulfilled.

Last week, Carson told reporters in Texas that he doesn’t “feel the need for it quite frankly, but the Secret Service thinks that I need it.”

Still, Carson admitted he feels the threats against him are credible, adding that the Secret Service “wouldn’t even be considering this if the threats were not serious.”
