Cheney Has No Regrets About Waterboarding: ‘The Results Speak for Themselves’

 

Former Vice President Dick Cheney spoke to students at American University Thursday night, and one of the issues he addressed was torture and whether such enhanced interrogation techniques were helpful. Cheney dismissed concerns over such tactics and said that in retrospect, he completely stands by taking those actions.

In a pre-speech interview with ATV, Cheney said, “Some people called it torture. It wasn’t torture.” During his speech, The Eagle reports, Cheney professed that he has no regrets.

“If I would have to do it all over again, I would,” Cheney said. “The results speak for themselves.”

As Cheney spoke to AU students, several of them marched out in protest, shouting “war criminal!” as they left. You can watch video of that below, via News2Share:
