City Council Lists ‘Castrate Mayor, Kiss Ass Goodbye’ in Debt Contingency Plan

The city council of Carmel, Indiana is ready with a contingency plan if they cannot meet its debt obligations. But the flowchart in a recently distributed proposal has a rather blunt assessment of what their options are:

Yes, that reads “Shoot Council, Castrate Mayor, Put Head Between Legs, Kiss Ass Goodbye!” and yes, this was in the city council’s actual flow chart on how to deal with its debt issues.

What happened, according to IndyStar was that City Council President Eric Seidensticker threw it in as a joke because “if it gets to this point, it’s unconscionable that we could let it get this far.”

“What you have there is a humorous version that was not meant for distribution,” he said. A consultant who drafted the first version of the chart accidentally included it when he sent it out, and took full responsibility for the oversight.

Mayor Jim Brainard, of course, didn’t take too kindly to a joke that mentioned the severing of his manhood:

“The clerk-treasurer is paid well by the taxpayers and it is unfortunate she is using her time and city resources to promote political campaigns. It is regrettable to see this sort of immaturity from the clerk-treasurer and Councilor Seidensticker.”
