CNBC’s Harwood Asks McConnell What He Thinks of Jon Stewart’s Turtle Jokes

CNBC’s John Harwood asked Senator Mitch McConnell for his reaction to all the times Jon Stewart has joked about him looking like a turtle.

For years now, the Daily Show host has made it clear that McConnell not only looks like a turtle, but basically just is one.

The joke is so mainstream now that Glenn Beck observed last week, “I defy you to look at him and then not laugh because he looks exactly like a turtle.”

So what does McConnell think of all the jokes? As he told Harwood, “I love it.”

Most of McConnell’s answer involved bragging about the position he holds and the support he’s received in office. In other words, what do the mocking words of a lowly comedian mean to a man of power such as himself?
