CNBC’s Joe Kernen: At Worst Climate Change Is ‘A Socialist, Global Wealth Redistribution Scheme’
CNBC’s Joe Kernen got into some Twitter back-and-forths on the subject of climate change this week, even saying at one point that it could end up being “a socialist, global wealth redistribution scheme.”
Kernen has previously expressed his belief that the “enviro-socialists” are a cult and said three years ago, “It’s almost like witchcraft. In the middle ages it was witchcraft. You would have attributed adverse weather events to witchcraft. Now we just have CO2 at this point.”
This week, Kernen engaged with others on Twitter about his climate skepticism and the motives of those pushing for global action, in the wake of President Trump‘s big announcement on the Paris accord:

vs. the IPCC and Bill Nye the science guy. Don't bother to read it, those charts couldn't possibly be true. After all, 97% agree right!

Man is changing the earth I agree. CAGW from CO2 I don't agree.

Centuries. On a 4-thousand-million year old planet. Sounds major.

That's the real beauty of the whole discussion. In my experience the more fervent the belief the greater the level of science illiteracy.

Here's the 2. 1) Science is settled. 2) 97% of scientists agree. #Orwelliangroupthink

I trust trained scientists in the fields of physics, chemistry. Geology. The "97%" contains a fair amount of social and political.

At least least I'm well-versed in the hard sciences. What does a "climatologist" study anyway, if not physics and chemistry?
— Joe Kernen (@JoeSquawk) June 9, 2017
I said I was well-versed in hard science. Not as much in Theology, Dogma, and Social Science.

Phantom menace, at best. At worst a socialist, global wealth redistribution scheme.

We all want clean air and clean water. CO2 alarmists have hijacked and undercut true environmentalism. History will judge very harshly IMO.
