CNN Analyst on O’Reilly: Powerful Men Should Not Meet With Women Alone

As part of a panel Monday night discussing the latest in the sexual harassment scandal involving Fox News and Bill O’Reilly, CNN economic analyst Stephen Moore was invited to share his thoughts.

That idea — wouldn’t you know — turned out to be less than stellar.

In the discussion, Moore relayed a tip he’d gotten from an executive he identified as a CEO of a Fortune 100 company.

“This is very good advice,” Moore said. “[The CEO] said, “I would never have a meeting with a woman without someone else in the room.’

“And this is, unfortunately, this is where we’re at today. If you are in a position of power, a Bill O’Reilly, a Donald Trump, anyone who is running a company, you cannot be in a room. You just can’t.”

Fellow panelist Kirsten Powers — a former Fox News contributor — appeared taken aback, and blasted Moore for his take.

“So any powerful man cannot be alone with a woman?” Powers said. “That’s ridiculous. I have meetings with [CNN president] Jeff Zucker alone all the time, I don’t have any problems.”

Powers added, “I mean, look at all of the powerful men at Fox News who have never been accused of sexual harassment. And this is your solution?”

Moore stood behind his comment.

“It is,” he said.
