CNN Contributor Calls Katrina Pierson’s Statements ‘Borderline Asinine’ to Her Face

KPClinton supporter and CNN contributor Bakari Sellers accused Trump’s national spokesperson Katrina Pierson of airing “borderline asinine” comments in a heated debate on CNN Monday morning.

CNN anchor Ana Cabrera pressed Pierson on a recent Donald Trump tweet in which he accused the president of “living in a world of make believe” and ignoring how deeply divided the nation is.

Pierson blamed “severe lack of leadership” on the president’s part and within the black community. Policing was a “local issue,” she averred, and the president had no place to intervene or pass judgment.

“I don’t really have any idea what Ms. Pierson’s talking about,” Sellers said. “To say that we don’t have any leadership in the African-American community or to say that we’re just some community walking around aimlessly trying to find or look for some Messiah, it’s just not the case.” He further accused Trump of using “divisive rhetoric to drive a wedge between people.”

Asked what Trump as president would do to bring people together, Pierson said, “The truth is inherently belligerent. Just because you’re speaking out against bullying that’s happening in this country, it makes you actually look at the problems.” Pierson blamed “failed liberal policies” in education and immigration. Illegal immigrants “were moving into black communities” and draining resources there — “and even in black churches,” she said.

“I can’t let Katrina’s statements, which were borderline asinine, go unchecked,” Sellers said.
