Congressional Republicans returned to the baseball diamond today for the first time since their team came under attack by a gunman last year.
It has been about 10 months since House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and three others were wounded after a rifleman opened fire while they practiced for the Congressional Baseball Game in Alexandria, VA. Today, reporters and security converged on Eugene Simpson Stadium Park to watch the country’s top conservative officials prepare for this year’s charity event.
Scalise is unlikely to participate since he just came off of his latest surgery as he continues to recover from his injuries. Nonetheless, there’s still a significant GOP presence on the field, and you can check out these pictures to get a sense of how its looking:
