Conservative Network OANN Backs White House in CNN Lawsuit: ‘Can’t Believe Fox is On the Other Side’

Conservative network One America News is backing the White House in its legal battle with CNN — a battle in which nearly every other major outlet in America is standing behind CNN.

Thursday afternoon on Twitter, OAN CEO Robert Herring announced that the network plans to file an amicus brief in support of the White House, as they defend against a lawsuit filed by CNN to restore White House access for their chief correspondent Jim Acosta.

“WE are going to file in the CNN vs White House court an Amicus Brief in favor of the White House,” Herring wrote. “Acosta’s actions are stopping our people from getting their questions answered, so that we can give our audience the real news direct from our President.”

Herring went on to criticize Fox for standing with CNN in the dispute.

“Can’t believe Fox is on the other side, but they have direct communication to the President,” Herring wrote. “We are lucky if we get a five minute interview once a quarter.”

While other outlets were ignored, OANN White House correspondent Emerald Robinson was called on during the Nov. 7 press conference which included President Donald Trump‘s standoff with Acosta — the incident which led to the White House revoking Acosta’s credential. OANN has been frequently called on at White House news conferences and briefings — whether it’s Robinson or her predecessor Trey Yingst, recently hired by Fox News.

A host of major outlets have backed CNN in their legal fight with the White House, including; the Associated Press, NBC, The New York Times, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, Scripps, and USA Today. OANN is the only known media outlet to go on the record supporting the White House.

OANN’s most prominent on-air talent is Jack Posobiec, a Pizzagate conspiracist who once brought a “RAPE MELANIA” sign to a rally.
